Many thanks to Erik Voss who wrote about my alma mater, the Chapel Hill Players (CHiPs), in his article on Splitsider.com. That picture at the top? Yup, that’s us in the quad, overlooking Wilson library before a show at Historic Playmakers Theater. And I have fond memories of this sketch from the Hanes Art Center show, also in the article:
To all my Carolina friends getting the year started this week – keep tabs on the CHiPs website, redesigned by the amazing Miles Bonsignore, and GO OUT AND AUDITION! The secret to success? Have a great time doing it. Make your scene partner look like the funniest person alive. The Chapel Hill Players have got an incredible 4 years ahead of them and I envy you guys for all the great things that lie ahead of you.
ALSO, a shout-out to my awesome new and old friends at Ground UP Productions for an amazing (yet unfortunately brief) run of Almost, Maine in Chapel Hill, NC this weekend. That was one of the funnest shows and rehearsal processes I’ve been a part of in a long time, and I’m so proud of the work we accomplished. I look forward to seeing you all again in New York City. Let’s do more plays like that one. The photo below is from closing night at Los Potrillos restaurant, but expect production photos soon.
